For generations, millions of families have made the Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey Circus part of their lives. The vibrant, live entertainment has brought joy to many. In December 2016, the famed circus chose Kristen Michelle Wilson as its first female ringmaster in its 146-year history.
Wilson, 35 of Florida beat out 100 applicants who auditioned for the job.
“Ever since I was a child, I have loved performing and entertaining,” she said. “So, to join the ‘greatest show on earth’ is truly just the biggest thrill of my life. It’s a bucket list-level opportunity I never even imagined.” (Good Morning America)
Unfortunately, this great opportunity will end all too soon. Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey Circus will have their last show EVER on May 21, 2017.
I am happy that I was able to retrace my childhood on February 19, 2017. I saw Kristen lead the circus for its last Atlanta, Georgia performance.
Congratulations Kristen! And Farewell Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey Circus!
