In a Guinness World Record Time of 18 months and 26 days, world traveler, environmental activist, women’s rights and peace activist, educator, triathlete and entrepreneur Cassie De Pecol has visited every country in the world. Cassie embarked on her tour in July 2015 as an ambassador for the International Institute of Peace Through Tourism, but the power of wanderlust overtook her in 2010.
In the summer of 2010, Cassie saved $2000 and decided to see the world. Along with her brother Jason, she would spend the next month traveling the walls of Berlin, the gardens of Munich and the mountains of Switzerland.
Shortly thereafter, Cassie took a 9-5 job in Washington, D.C. to experience a “normal life” for a while. She found the corporate world unfulfilling and moved back to California to reflect on life. (cassiedepecol.com)
With an intense passion for travel, Cassie began planning her trek around the world, now known as “Expedition 196”.
Her goal: “To inspire young women around the world to travel, step outside of their comfort zone. Do something that only men have done.”
Next up, Cassie has plans to race in an Olympic triathlon in San Diego in March.
