Dr. Jennifer Ellis is one of only six board-certified black female cardiothoracic surgeons in the U.S.

She received her medical degree from Sidney Kimmel Medical College and has been in practice for more than 20 years.

A cardiothoracic surgeon is a medical doctor who specializes in surgical procedures of the heart, lungs, esophagus, and other organs in the chest.

Only about 4 percent of physicians are black.

Jordon Bray: Girl On The Run

Jordon Bray

Jordon Bray was born to run.  At only 11 years old, she has earned over 75 medals in her career.

In 2014, Jordon was selected as one of six young athletes from around the country to star in Under Armour’s “Team Next” campaign.

“I dream about myself at the Olympics running the 100 and I win the race and I get like this big medal and it’s heavy and it’s real gold,” Bray said. (BlackChristianNews.com)

Jordon is coached by her father Jayson, a former Auburn University football standout.
